Steve & Albführen's Paille

This time it worked: After he had been so often so close to this goal – 3rd in 2007, 2nd in 2012 and 2013 – Steve Guerdat wins this Sunday, April 19, 2015, in Las Vegas his first World Cup title in jumping!

Olympic Champion 2012 in individual jumping, Winner 2010 of the Top 10 and European Champion 2009 with the Swiss team, the only 33-year-old Jurassians adds a next prestigious title to his already rich palmares.

In the saddle of Albführen's Paille de la Roque – winner of the World Cup leg in Gothenburg and 3rd of the Top-10 final in Geneva, but in Las Vegas for the first time at a Championnat – Steve Guerdat, after the first round of the Final III on Sunday, would have been allowed to have 9 penalties in the second round to still climb onto the top step on the podium. And he “played his joker", as he had two fences down in the final round, but remained at 24/10 still within the allowed time – a crazy finish, but that could not take away his obviously incredibly constant and great performance over the whole of the last days. And so his winning big smile on the podium and the subsequent lap of honour spoke volumes about his joy about this great new major title!

2nd place took Frenchwoman Penelope Leprevost on Vagabond de la Pomme, followed by the young Irish talent Bertram Allen on Molly Malone – thus three Europeans among the top three. Rank 4 for the best American Amazone Beezie Madden on Simon, and 5th place to the young Belgian Jos Verlooy on Domino.

Viva Las Vegas - Viva Steve Guerdat & Alpführen's Paille de la Roque!
