Switzerland wins the bronze medal after a fierce battle: thanks to a stunning Martin Fuchs and a compared to yesterday smoother Clooney, taking splendidly the 2nd place in the individuals standing before the final two classes on Sunday. Thanks to a Steve Guerdat, who played his decisive role in the opening speed class and during the three days of the team competitions, despite a fault on the obstacle No. 11, knowing that he was not allowed to commit an additional time fault (5 points and they would have missed the medals). A fault that made him very angry, because he wanted to get the silver medal for the team. Thanks to a very impressive Romain Duguet, even if he ripped two planks in the triple combination with Twentytwo of the Biches.

The 5 points of Nadja Peter Steiner made these 8 points the be the drop result, and Switzerland would not have won a medal this evening without the fantastic round of the native Schwyzerin, who lives in Bois-le-Roi. The novice at an international championship has been able to gain a lot of experience this week and has earned her spurs. Congratulations also to Andy Kistler, Thomas Fuchs, the grooms, the veterinarians, the horse owners and the whole team.

It really needed a great team performance of the Swiss team to beat the Belgians, only one point behind talking the fantastic 4th place, and thus still have to wait for a team medal at European Championships (so far they have done so at world championships or at the Olympic Games), the Germans ranked 5th, the Dutch as the title defending champion in sixth place, the French as 7th, and all the others. What a fight!
