Last weekend the Swiss team secured an impressive victory at the opening leg of the FEI Nations Cup 2014 Furusiyya Jumping in Lummen, Belgium. Their victory was achieved without ever having to call out their fourth-line rider, Olympic champion Steve Guerdat, who watched from the sidelines as his team-mates were perfect from start to finish. And since this jumping is valid for the Swiss as one of four qualifications for the final in mid-October in Barcelona, the victory has additional significance.
Apart from this nice victory with the team Steve was also successful in the other jumping competitions : With Nasa he stayed clear the first day in a 145 cm as well as on Saturday in the Six Bars Jumping. With Qui Vive De La Tour he finished in 3rd place in a 140 cm, and on Saturday in the final ranked 6th in a 150 cm jumping. On Sunday Steve achieved a good 9th place with Concetto Son, with a clear first round and only one down and four penalty points in the second round.
